개요
Zalo Translator(이하 "본 확장 프로그램" 또는 "서비스")는 Zalo Web(chat.zalo.me)에서 메시지를 실시간 번역하는 Chrome 확장 프로그램입니다. 본 방침은 서비스가 사용자 데이터를 어떻게 수집·이용·보관·공유하는지 빠짐없이 설명합니다.
1. 수집·처리하는 데이터
(1) 번역 콘텐츠
- 번역 대상 메시지 텍스트: Zalo Web 화면에서 번역 대상이 되는 수신 메시지, 그리고 사용자가 직접 입력하여 번역을 요청한 메시지의 텍스트.
- 최근 대화 문맥: 더 정확한 번역을 위해, 현재 대화방의 최근 메시지 일부(최대 10개)가 문맥으로 함께 전송됩니다.
(2) 설정 및 환경값
- 출발/도착 언어, 화자·상대방 성별 설정, 표시 방식, 번역 범위, 대화방 이름(번역 문맥 및 히스토리 구분 용도).
(3) 식별 및 인증 정보
- 라이선스 키: 유료 구독(Zalo Translate AI) 인증에 사용.
- Google 계정 이메일 주소: 사용자가 유료 라이선스를 활성화할 때에 한해 Chrome
identity 권한으로 이메일 주소를 읽어, 라이선스를 사용자 계정에 연결하는 식별자(인스턴스 이름)로 사용합니다. 무료(Google Translate) 사용 시에는 수집하지 않습니다.
(4) 사용 데이터(메타데이터)
- Zalo Translate AI 서버 이용 시: 출발/도착 언어, 텍스트 길이, 캐시 적중 여부, 입력/출력 토큰 수, 요청 시각, 라이선스 키가 서비스 운영·과금 목적으로 기록됩니다.
(5) 기기에 로컬 저장되는 데이터
- 설정값, 라이선스 키, 라이선스 인스턴스 ID, 번역 캐시, 번역 히스토리(원문·번역문·역번역·대화방·시각), 대화방별 성별 설정. (브라우저
chrome.storage.local에만 저장)
2. 데이터 이용 목적
- 채팅 메시지의 실시간 번역 및 작성 메시지 번역 제공
- 동일 텍스트 재요청 시 빠른 응답·비용 절감을 위한 번역 결과 캐싱
- 유료 구독 라이선스의 인증·활성화 및 사용량 측정/과금
- 서비스 품질 및 안정성 개선
본 데이터는 위 목적으로만 사용되며, 사용자 식별을 위한 광고·프로파일링·판매 목적으로 이용하지 않습니다.
3. 제3자 제공 및 공유
선택한 번역 엔진 및 구독 여부에 따라, 번역에 필요한 데이터가 다음 제3자에게 전송됩니다.

4. 저장 위치 및 보관 기간
기기(브라우저) 로컬 저장
- 설정·라이선스 키·인스턴스 ID·대화방별 성별: 사용자가 변경/삭제하거나 확장 프로그램을 제거할 때까지 보관.
- 번역 히스토리: 최근 7일 및 최대 1,000건까지만 로컬 보관 후 자동 삭제. 사용자가 언제든 삭제 가능.
- 번역 캐시: 로컬에 저장되며 설정에서 초기화 가능.
당사 서버 저장 (Zalo Translate AI 이용 시)
- 번역 결과 캐시: 빠른 응답을 위해 저장되며 30일 후 자동 삭제.
- 사용 로그(언어, 텍스트 길이, 토큰 수, 캐시 여부, 시각, 라이선스 키): 운영·과금 목적으로 보관.
- 라이선스-인스턴스 매핑 정보.
모든 전송 구간은 HTTPS(SSL/TLS)로 암호화됩니다.
5. 수집하지 않는 정보
- Zalo 계정 자격 증명(아이디·비밀번호)
- 이미지·파일·음성 메시지
- 연락처, 위치 정보, 브라우징 히스토리
- chat.zalo.me 이외 사이트의 데이터
6. 사용자의 권리 및 선택
- 무료(Google Translate) 엔진을 선택하면 라이선스·이메일 정보를 제공하지 않고 이용할 수 있습니다.
- 확장 프로그램 설정에서 번역 캐시와 히스토리를 직접 초기화할 수 있습니다.
- 확장 프로그램을 삭제하면 기기에 저장된 모든 데이터가 제거됩니다.
- 서버에 저장된 데이터(캐시·사용 로그·라이선스 정보)의 열람 또는 삭제를 아래 연락처로 요청할 수 있습니다.
7. 아동 개인정보
본 서비스는 만 13세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동의 개인정보를 의도적으로 수집하지 않습니다.
8. 보안
모든 통신은 HTTPS로 암호화되며, 서버 접근은 인증된 라이선스 키를 통해서만 가능합니다.

Zalo Translator Privacy Policy

Overview
Zalo Translator ("the Extension" or "Service") is a Chrome extension that translates messages in real time on Zalo Web (chat.zalo.me). This policy comprehensively describes how the Service collects, uses, stores, and shares user data.
1. Data We Collect and Process
(1) Translation content
- Message text to translate: The text of received messages shown on Zalo Web that are translated, and messages you type and submit for translation.
- Recent conversation context: To improve accuracy, a small number of recent messages (up to 10) from the current conversation are sent as context.
(2) Settings
- Source/target languages, speaker/recipient gender settings, display mode, translation scope, and conversation (room) names used for translation context and history grouping.
(3) Identification and authentication
- License key: Used to authenticate the paid subscription (Zalo Translate AI).
- Google account email address: Only when you activate a paid license, the Chrome
identity permission is used to read your email address and use it as an identifier (instance name) to bind the license to your account. It is not collected when using the free (Google Translate) engine.
(4) Usage data (metadata)
- When using the Zalo Translate AI server: source/target language, text length, cache-hit status, input/output token counts, request timestamp, and license key are logged for operations and billing.
(5) Data stored locally on your device
- Settings, license key, license instance ID, translation cache, translation history (original, translated, back-translation, room, time), and per-room gender settings. (Stored only in
chrome.storage.local.)
2. How We Use Data
- Providing real-time translation of chat messages and of messages you compose
- Caching translations for faster responses and lower cost on identical requests
- Authenticating/activating the paid license and measuring usage for billing
- Improving service quality and reliability
Data is used only for these purposes and is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold.
3. Sharing with Third Parties
Depending on the translation engine you select and your subscription, data needed for translation is sent to the following third parties.

4. Storage Location and Retention
On your device (browser)
- Settings, license key, instance ID, per-room gender: kept until you change/delete them or uninstall the extension.
- Translation history: kept locally for the last 7 days and up to 1,000 entries, then auto-deleted. You can delete it at any time.
- Translation cache: stored locally and can be cleared in settings.
On our server (when using Zalo Translate AI)
- Translation result cache: stored for faster responses and auto-deleted after 30 days.
- Usage logs (language, text length, token counts, cache status, time, license key): retained for operations and billing.
- License-to-instance mapping.
All transmissions are encrypted via HTTPS (SSL/TLS).
5. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Zalo account credentials (username, password)
- Images, files, or voice messages
- Contacts, location data, or browsing history
- Data from any site other than chat.zalo.me
6. Your Rights and Choices
- You can use the free (Google Translate) engine without providing a license or email.
- You can clear the translation cache and history in the extension settings.
- Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
- You may request access to or deletion of server-stored data (cache, usage logs, license info) at the contact below.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Security
All communications are encrypted via HTTPS, and server access requires an authenticated license key.
